The jump rope is a great option for cardio that is both budget friendly and portable. It may not be quite as easy as your remember from being a kid, but it’s an excellent way to get your heart rate up. It’s also great to incorporate into HIIT or other interval type training to balance resistance exercises with some cardio work. They are different options available, which include “rope-less” jump ropes, that are handles that are weighted at the end and allow you to turn like a jump rope, but without the trip hazard.
